The Future of  Work

Renée Smith, Willis Towers Watson, Director and North America Leader, Future of Work

Ryan Patschke, Willis Towers Watson,  Director and Denver Market Leader, Talent Segment

Digitalization is transforming the nature of work and presenting opportunities for organizational change. Jobs as we once knew them are evolving at a rapid pace; new skill requirements and occupations are emerging while others are being displaced. Organizations today face significant challenges in understanding the implications and risk associated with this change.

Business issues arising from this transformation:

·         Artificial Intelligence (AI) and robotics are automating tasks within jobs, driving deconstruction

·         Corporate America clearly sees workplace automation gaining momentum, with little signs of slowing down anytime soon

·         Skill premiums and discounts are shifting, as new skill requirements emerge

·         There is an increase in risk from obsolescence of skills and rapidly changing job scope - driving the need for reskilling pathways

Very few companies and HR functions are fully prepared to address the organizational change requirements related to automation as well as less reliance on full-time employees and greater reliance on contingent talent.  You will hear ideas to better understand the opportunities and risks of reassigning work in a disaggregated way, employing AI in the reengineering / automation of processes, as well as rethinking the roles of leaders and managers in this new reality.

Who should attend? This session is recommended for Heads of Human Resources, Talent Management, Total Rewards, as well as all other HR professionals and their managers
